Illinois - About the Wind Energy Coalition![]() AboutThe Illinois Wind Energy Coalition is an alliance of businesses, organizations and individuals dedicated to helping wind power thrive in Illinois. The Coalition is a project of Wind on the Wires, in conjunction with the American Wind Energy Association. The Coalition is a diverse group. We are wind farm developers, turbine and component manufacturers, local officials, school administrators, labor and economic development groups, landowners, environmentalists and others who have joined together to call for state policies that help wind power grow in our state. Wind energy is essential to our economic and environmental future in Illinois. We know these investments will create thousands of jobs, spur new manufacturing opportunities, and provide millions in new local property tax revenue, all at a time when our state needs it most. Wind energy is good for our state. Wind keeps our air and water clean, provides rural economic development, and helps maintain electric price stability. Wind farms create good-paying jobs in construction, maintenance, and manufacturing; provide millions in local tax revenue and annual landowner payments; and help diversify the state's electric portfolio. Join with us to help bring more clean, emissions-free wind energy to Illinois!
